Dr. Daugherty was educated in his native county, came to Iowa in 1857, and remained until the breaking out of the Rebellion, when he enlisted in 1868 in Co. Dr. Daugherty came of old American stock, his ancestors being the first early settlers of Ohio where his parents died in advanced life and where all his brothers and sisters, three of whom attended the funeral, live. Dr. Daugherty was well and favorably known throughout this and adjoining counties. He was an honorable, upright citizen.
