OBITUARY.--Wm. R. Finley was born in Clarke County, Ind., Nov. 21st, 1818, and came to Ill., in 1834. He was married to Miss Eldana P. Johnson*, Oct. 21st 1847, in Rock Island Co., Ill., and remained in the state until 1865, when he moved to Iowa and settled in Story Co., where he remained until his death, which occured Oct. 6, 1889. He was the father of twelve children five sons and seven daughters. Mr. Finley was an industrious hardworking man, honest and upright in all his dealings. No man stood higher in the estimation of his neighbors than he. The funeral took place on 8th inst. and was largely attended. Rev. R. A. Ferguson conducted the service assisted by Rev. L. R. Barr.
