DIED.--At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. D. J. Bunce, on Saturday after a brief illness, Mrs. Miranda* Griffith, aged 79 years.

Mrs. Griffith was born in Steuben county, N. Y., where her early days were spent. She was married to Clemence Griffith at the age of 16, with whom she lived until his death six years ago. She has meade her home since June with her daughter here, and is quite well known to many. Brief funeral exercises wer held at the residence on Sunday last, after with the remains were taken to the Milwaukee railroad to be transported in charge of her son George Griffith, to Preston, Jackson county, Iowa, where they were laid beside those of her husband, who had preceded her to that long home from which there is no return.

SUBMITTERS NOTE: "Miranda" is a typo. Both Mrs. Griffith and her daughter, Mrs. Bunce, had the first name "Marinda."
