DIED.--On Thursday after a lingering illness, at her residence in Nevada, Mrs. Catharine A. Shugart, wife of Geo. W. Shugart, aged 49 years.

Mrs. Shugart has been a resident of Story county for many years, and was highly esteemed by her neighbors as an exemplary wife and mother. She leaves a husband and children to mourn her loss and look forward to a meeting in the future where partings shall be no more. The funeral will be on Sabbath next.

Mrs. Geo. W. Shugart passed through the darkness of physical dissolution into that unknown land from whence none return on the morning of Thursday the 6th inst. Her maiden name was Catharine Ann Huffman. She was born in Hunderton county, New Jersey, April 11th, 1836. At the age of 16 she moved with her parents to Illinois and in December, 1853, was married to her now bereaved husband, G. W. Shugart. She leaves eight children, four of whom are married. She has been greatly afflicted during the last three years of her life, but bore it with great patience, and during last winter professed saving faith in Christ, the sinners friend, and died leaving this legacy of light and peaceful hope to her sorrowing husband, children and aged mother.
