From Story County Watchman August 7, 1885

DIED.--On Sunday morning last after a lingering illness, Lizzie, daughter of county Recorder H. H. Boyes, in her 18th year.

She was a member of the Nevada school, and stood as one of the best pupils. Her classmates attended the funeral on Monday in a body, thus showing their appreciation of her worth and below will be found their resolutions tendering their respects. The funeral exercises were held at their residence on Monday, and were conducted by Rev. Wynn, of Ames.

WHEREAS, It has pleased a Divine Providence in its wisdom to remove by death on of our number, Lizzie Boyes, be it

Resolved, That in her death the school loses an earnest worker and the class a highly esteemed member.

Resolved, That our sincerest sympathy is extended the bereaved father, mother and little brother, in this their geatest loss.

Resolved, That we, as a class, attend the funeral in a body wearing a suitable badge of mourning.

Resolved, That these resolutions be published and a copy be given the family of the deceased.
