From the Nevada Representative August 5, 1896

Mr. Benjamin Brown died July 29 at the home of his son, Thomas, in Ames. He was a native of Delaware county, Penn. He had resided in Ames two years and was shoemaker by trade and had reached the advanced age of 86.*

*Submitter believes it is "86" but the number was very difficult to decipher.
