Obituary
--------
Died at her home in this city, Thursday, July 30, 1896, of consumption, Mrs. Julia Cragewick Henryson, wife of H. T. Henryson, aged 26 years, 9 months and 12 days. This sorrowful even had long been regarded as inevitable: yet it came with suddenness at the end, and it excited the profound sympathy and pain which are due and natural at the passing of a young wife and mother whose character and opportunities gave promise of a life of cheer and usefulness. He had been an invalid for many months, and everything had been done for her that could be done but the contest against the disease had long been hopeless and for some time it had only been sought to make her last days comfortable. In this there was success. For the last month she had felt better than previously and her voice was strong and her mind was clear almost to the moment of dissolution.
Julia Cragewick was born at Lee, Lee county, Illinois, October 18, 1869 removed with her parents to Ellsworth, Hamilton county, Iowa in 1874 where he people still reside, attended school at Story City, was married March 6, 1879 to Henry T. Henryson, began house keeping at Webster City, removed with her husband in 1890 to Story City, and upon his election as county treasurer to Nevada in December, 1895, went to California for her health early in February and returned the first of June, failed from this time rapidly and died as above noted in the family home at East and Second streets. Mr. and Mrs. Henryson had three children, all boys, the youngest of whom died last May at Story City while they were both in California. The other two, aged respectively six and four, are left with their father to mourn the loss of wife and mother.
Mrs. Henryson having been since she came to Nevada always an invalid and much of the time absent, few of the Nevada people had had opportunity to make her intimate acquaintance, yet all sho met her had been attracted by her bright personal qualities, and those who did know her speak of her as a gentle, patient, thoughtful little woman, who was qualified to grace any situation in which she might be placed and who in her illness required the least possible service of others.
Brief services were conducted at the home in Nevada Saturday morning by Rev. A. B. Shrader, and the remains were taken on the forenoon train to Story City, where the funeral was conducted by Rev. Shrader, assisted by Rev. B. Michaelson. The burial took place at Story City. There was a large attendance both at Nevada and Story City and many friends from Nevada and relatives from Story City were present at both places. Sympathy and sorrow alike were great.
