Roland man died Tuesday

Orville Hagen, 68, Roland, died March 11 of an apparent heart attack while at work at Beyer Hall on the Iowa State University campus.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland with the Rev. Everett Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.

Born July 17, 1900 in Cambridge, he moved to Roland when he was an infant. He has lived there most of his life.

He married the former Bessie M. Stone in 1930.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Henry of Nevada; four step-children, Verile Hilker and Dale Hilker of Roland, Eugene Hilker of Roselle, Ill. and Mrs. Shirley Troeger of Rockford, Ill; 12 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Stoeker of Waukesha, Wisc., Mrs. Margaret Benson of Los Angeles, Calif and Mrs. Bette Meneghelli of Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland until time of services.

Orville Hagen, Roland, died Tuesday, March 11, at Byers Hall at I.S.U., where he was employed

He was born on July 17, 1900 in Cambridge and moved to Roland as an infant where he lived all his life. He married Bessie Stone in 1930.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, with Rev. Everett Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Henry of Nevada; four step-children, Verile Hilker and Dale Hilker of Roland; Eugene Hilker of Roselle, Ill.; and Mrs. Shirley Troeger of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Stoeker of Waukesha, Wisc.; Mrs. Margaret Benson of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Bette Meneghelli of Sherman Oaks, Calif. and twelve grandchildren.
