Elmer L. Markley
Feb 25, 1929 - April 5, 1991Elmer L. Markley, 62, 106 N. Second Ave., Huxley, died Friday of heart failure at his home. Services will be held Wednesday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m., at Stevens Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Elmer Markley was born in Ames to Clarence and Lucille (Slippy) Markley. He was a truck driver for 40 years and an employee of Con-Struct for five years. Markley was a lifetime resident of Story County and a member of the American Legion, post 37.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky Mennes of Maxwell and Edie Hughes of Solon; four sons, Terry of Tucson, Ariz., Gary of Cambridge, Steve of Jamestown and Clint of Ogden; nine grandchildren; one brother, Mark of San Jose, Calif.; and four sisters, Irene Lande of Huxley, Bertha Pinta of Ames, Phyllis Holveck of Gilbert and Virginia Sandy of Wray, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ben and Wert; and his stepmother, Bertha Markley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
