Son of Ames Pioneeer Dies At Cherokee

Marion Arrasmith, 74, son of Ames pioneer couples, Mr. and Mrs. William Arrasmith, died suddenly Tuesday evening at 8:30 at his home in Cherokee. Death was caused by a stroke.

Mr. Arrasmith was born in Ames and grew to manhood here. Shortly before his marriage he moved to a farm near Cherokee where he resided until a few years ago when he retired from active farm work and moved into town.

He is survived by his wife who is now visiting in California, two sons and eight daughters, all of whom reside in and near Cherokee. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Cox of Ames, Mrs. Edith Ohmart of Guthrie, Okla, and Mrs. Jane Bamgardner of McCallsburg, and two brothers, Aden of northeast of Ames and Clarence who was living with his brother at the time of his death.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Wednesday pending word from Mrs. Arrasmith.
