Earl “Dean” Wycoff (1953-2010)

THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

Earl “Dean” Wycoff, 56, of Chariton, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 27, 2010, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at United Methodist Church in Nevada.

Dean was born June 16, 1953, to Floyd C. Wycoff and R. Louise (Schnur) Wycoff, of Nevada. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1971 and went on to get his education in life while working for John Deere in Ankeny. He retired from John Deere in 2007 after a 30 year career as a laborer that included working on the disk line, cotton pickers and high cycles. He finished his career with John Deere by being given the responsibility to redesign the production lines and retooling their machines.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; one brother, Carl (Jill) Wycoff, of Nevada; one sister, Marlys (Wycoff) Swanson, of Nevada; four sons, Brad, of Nevada, Matt, of Iowa City, Jeff, of Nevada, and Nic (Jessica Soll) Wycoff, of Nampa, Idaho; one granddaughter, Grace; three stepchildren, Christopher (Mindi) Jones, of Columbus, Ga., Brian Jones, of Waukee, and Sara (Max) Constable, of Des Moines; 11 step-grandchildren; three nieces; three nephews; and six grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His presence at family events and in our lives will be deeply missed.
