THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

Louise Rhoades, 73, of Boone, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Louise’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets in Boone.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, where the family will be present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Anna Louise Rhoades was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Guthrie Center, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Davis) Kent. Louise married Richard “Dick” Rhoades March 29, 1958, in Guthrie Center. She was a homemaker, and earlier she worked for Story County and the Red Rock Community Action Centers. Her family was very special to her, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Stacey (Pam) Rhodes, of Boone; five daughters, Rita (Bryan) Myers, of West Des Moines, Anna Hancox, of League City, Texas, Mary Rhoades, of Boone, Sandra Martin and fiancé, David Claassen, of Boone, and Beverly (Jeff) Luedloff, of Shakopee, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Eola Porter.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
