THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Margaret Sanders, 74, of Prole, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, May 4, 2009, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at First Christian Church, 611 Clark Ave., in Ames. Private burial will be in Eldora Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the church.

Margaret was born July 20, 1934, in Eldora, to Orpha and Everett Caster. She enjoyed reading, traveling and was an avid Iowa State fan. She was a member of the House of Directors Association (Cotrie) for 14 years and was the Tri-Delta housemother at Iowa State University until she retired in 2007. She also owned and operated the Union Supper Club for many years. Above all, she loved and cherished the time she had with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie (Dave) Winters, of Eldora, and Jill (Kyle) Haskin, of Prole; one son, Jeff Dreessen, of Waterloo; one stepson, Dan (Vicki) Sanders, of Sun Valley, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Balvanz, Nichole Winters, Shea Balvanz, Caydon Haskin, Amber Winters, Corbin Haskin and Kenzie Haskin; two step-grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) Goranson and Heather Sanders; four siblings, Reva (Ludwig) Dostal, Roy (Anne) Caster, Betty (Art) Posusta and Wayne (Becky) Caster; two sisters-in-law, Ardis Caster and Ila Caster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Albert Ray (in infancy), Jim and Wendell Caster; and her sister-in-law, Janet Caster.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church in Ames or Crossroads Church in Norwalk in loving memory of Margaret.
