Mickel L. Tendall was born on June 2, 1888 at Skaanevik, Norway, the son of Lars and Signe Tendall. He passed away at the Story County hospital in Nevada, Saturday, August 6, 1955, at the age of 67 years two months and four days. He had been in ill health for several years.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Skaanevik Lutheran church. He came to the Roland community in 1906 with his mother and two sisters from Norway.
On March 6, 1917 he was united in marriage to Christine Mortvet in Des Moines. They farmed in the McCallsburg and Roland communities until retiring to Roland in 1948.
He is survived by his wife Christine; two sons, Leonard and Raymond, and three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Twedt (Grace), and Mr. Wendall Williams (Dorothy) all of Nevada, and Mr. Lyle Hemes (Katherine) of Des Moines. Also 15 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nels Sunde of Estherville, and Mrs. Alice Walker of Winnebago, Minn., and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 9, at 2 p.m., from the Salem Lutheran church in Roland with Rev. Olaf Holen officiating. Mrs. Lester Molde, soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset," and "Abide With Me," accompanied by Mrs. Arvie Jacobson, organist.
