Rufus Everett Erickson

Rufus Everett Erickson, 76, of Nevada died of cancer Tuesday at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Erickson was born in Huxley and had lived in Nevada since 1949. He was a farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of William F. Ball American Legion in Nevada and the Lions Club.

Among survivors are his wife, Thelma; two sons, Alan of Marshalltown and Steven of East Moline, Ill.; a daughter, Janeen Corbin of Nevada; nine sisters, Dorothy Allen of Ames, Margene Chelsvig of Boone, Leona Erickson and Idelles Erickson, both of Kansas City, Mo., Betty Anderson of Mankato, Minn., Romona Pokheim of Minneapolis, Patricia Crosley of Cass Lake, Minn., Glennice Picht of Bella Vista, Ark., and Caroleen Younker of Redlands, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
