Joel T. Chelsvig

Joel T. Chelsvig, 71, of McCallsburg died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Bethany Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Mr. Chelsvig was born in Roland and lived since 1948 in the McCallsburg area, where he farmed. He was a member of the McCallsburg Lions Club and the McCallsburg Old Foggies Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Chelsvig Laherty of Garden Grove, Calif.; his mother, Gladys Chelsvig of Zearing; a brother Leslie of Story City; and a sister, Gayle Harris of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church. The Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
