Richard Thomas "Rick" Madison, 58, passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. A celebration of Rick's life was held on Sunday, January 25, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Madrid, where the family greeted friends from 2 p.m. until the service time on Sunday. Cremation rites followed the service on Sunday, and private committal services will take place at a later date. The Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid is in charge of arrangements.

Rick was born on Nov. 4, 1950, in Boone, Iowa to Richard H. and Lorraine R. Ladurini Madison. He married Lynda J. Fuller on September 26, 1981 in Huxley, Iowa, where they made their home. Rick enjoyed taking pictures, traveling and most of all loved spending time with his family. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Lynda Madison of Huxley; mother, Lorraine Madison of Madrid; son, Brian Madison of Des Moines; two daughters, Raedena (Keith) Ryan of Taylorville, IL and Danielle (Daniel) Chrisco of Huxley; sister, Annette (Bill) Polich of Madrid; brother, Steve (Vera) Madison of Spencer, IN; and a host of several nieces, nephews and many friends. Rick was preceded in death by one nephew, Mike; his father, Richard; and mother-in-law, Joyce.
