Services for Andrew Nelson To Be Tuesday

CAMBRIDGE—Funeral services for Andrew Nelson, 93, prominent pioneer Cambridge resident and Civil War veteran, who died Friday morning at his home here, will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran church. Burial will he in the Cambridge cemetery.

Mr. Nelson had been a resident of Cambridge since 1865, coming here directly from four years of service in the Civil war in which he was a member of E company, ninety-first Illinois infantry.

He had been prominent in the affairs of the community during his residence here and in Grand Army circles in both the county and state.

Born in Norway, Mr. Nelson came with his parents and grandparents in 1849 to Lisbon, Ill., where the family settled. At the outbreak of the Civil war, he enlisted with the Illinois infantry and served thruout the period of the war.

He leaves besides his second wife, two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Nelson of Ottawa, Ill., and Mrs. Anna Kalsem of Huxley, and three sons, Martin and K. E. Nelson of Cambridge and Andrew Nelson jr., of Des Moines.
