J. M. Christian, Roland, Dies

Roland - J. M. Christian, 85, Roland, died at his home Monday night at 8 following an illness of several months.

Born in Lisbon, Ill., March 25, 1871, he came to Story County in 1875 with his parents. He farmed near here until his retirement a few years ago.

Mr. Christian's wife, Helen, servives him. Children surviving are: June Lock, Roland; Hansel and Marion, Colo, Mrs. Cleo Cecil, Gardena, Calif; Mrs. Olive Borwick, Roland; Mrs. Arlick Smith, State Center; Mrs. Ruby Freeman, Los Angeles, Calif, and Mrs. Frances Holen, Roland. Two sisters Mrs. Emma Erickson, Roland, and Mrs. Alice Munson, Story City, also survive. Mr. Christian was preceded in death by a son, Frank.

Funeral services to be conducted by the Rev. Olav Holen at Salem Lutheran Church with burial in roland Cemetery, are pending arrival of children.
