Set Services for Roland Resident

ROLAND - Mrs. Helen Christian, 86, Roland, died about 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mary Greeley Hospital.

Born near Roland, she was the daughter of Hans and Anna Jondahl.

She married John Christian and the couple farmed near Roland all their lives. She was a member of the Roland Salem Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Christian is survived by two sons, Hansell and Marion, both of Colo; six daughters, Mrs. June Lock, Mrs. Frances Holan and Mrs. Olive Borwick, all of Roland; Mrs. Arlis Smith of State Center, Mrs. Cleo Cecil of Gardena, Calif., and Ruby Freeman, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, and by a son.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Salem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Perry Heller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum Funeral Home, Roland, until Wednesday evening.
