AMES DAILY TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 27, 1951.

STORY CITY - A prayer service was held in the Larson-Peterson Funeral Home in Story City Tuesday afternoon, March 13 for John Tvedt, followed by the funeral service in St. Petri Lutheran church. His pastor, the Rev. Allen E. Nelson of Roland, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. S. T. Nelson of Story City, Mrs. Marjory Kenny sang 'Abide With Me" and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Alfred Jacobson. Casket bearers were Joseph Johnson, Otis Steelman, Ingram Madson, Dr. Ray Johnson, Forest Montgomery and Richard Munsen. Interment was in the Story City cemetery.

John Tvedt was born June 19, 1888 on a farm in Concord Township, Hardin county, the son of Ole K. and Johanna Tvedt.

He was a life-long member of the East Bergen Lutheran church.

John farmed near Zearing for a number of years. In 1948 he retired from farming and, with his sister, Isabelle and brother, Clarence moved to their home in Story City.

He passed away in his home, following a stroke suffered a short time earlier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters and one brother. He is survived by three brothers; Clarence of Story City, Otis and Rexford of Radliffe; three sisters: Isabelle of Story City, Elva of Radcliffe and Mrs. Elwood Ose of McCallsburg; four nieces and one nephew.
