STORY CITY - Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in Story City, in Larson-Peterson Funeral Home and in St. Petri Lutheran church for Mrs. Martha Jondall, the Rev. S. T. Nelson officiating. Special music was provided in solos sung by Truman Quam and Pastor Nelson, with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Alfred Jacobson.

The body was laid to rest in Roland cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Teig, John Michaelson. Eldin Hand, Don Hagen, Hosa Jondall and Amos Quam.

Mrs. Martha Monson Jondall. the daughter of Lars and Martha Monson, was born on the homestead southeast of Story City, June 25. 1874. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran church by the Rev. Nils Amlund. On Sept. 24, 1896 she was united in marriage to John S. H. Jondall of Roland by the Rev. C. C. Holter. Nine children were born to this union.

Mrs. Jondall lived in the Roland vicinity throughout her married life except for the past 11 years when she lived in Story City.

Following several years of lingering illness Mrs. Jondall passed away at her home in Story City Sunday afternoon, March 18, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 21 days. Three children and her husband preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her death six children: (Sylvia) Mrs. James Quam of Eugene, Oregon; (Minnie) Mrs. Frank Hurley of Des Moines; (Josephine) Mrs. Harvey Boyer of Chicago, (Clara) Mrs. Harry Jacobson of Story City; Alfred of Chicago ,and Milford of Lawton, Mich.; one sister, Julia Monson and five brothers: Ole, Lars, Albert, Martin and Mons, all of Story City; nine grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

As a kindly mother and neighbor Mrs. Jondall will be missed by her children and many friends.
