June 4,1949, to May 4, 1992

Sandra Lou Armstrong, 42, of Johnston died of cancer at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines.

She was born to Harold and Luella (Dolph) Rumbaugh at Ames. She lived in Johnston for the past two years after moving there from Des Moines. She was employed by Little Giant Crane and Shovel as a clerical worker. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church, Des Moines.

Survivors include one son Anthony Armstrong of Des Moines; two daughters, Heather Armstrong and Tatum Armstrong, both of Des Moines; one sister, Donna Schauper of Rockwell City; two brothers, Michael Rumbaugh of Des Moines and Harold Rumbaugh of Colo; her parents, Harold and Luella Rumbaugh of Colo; her grandmother Mona Dolph Long of Osceola; and her fiance Fred Ballard of Johnston.

Services were held May 8 at Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell. Burial was in the Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines.
