Robert B. Arneson, 73, of Nevada, died Aug. 21 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

He was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Sycamore, Ill., to Oscar and Mable (O'Brien) Arneson. He was married May 25, 1949, to Bobbie Scobey. He retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie, of Nevada; two sons, Bruce Allan (and Cynthia) Arneson of Mesa, Ariz., and William Edward (and Patricia) Arneson of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Rebecca Ann (and Roger) Spaete of Nevada; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbert Arneson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a step-brother, Merlin Thomas of Janesville, Wis.; and a half-sister Marian Behne of Calamus.

Funeral services were held Monday at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ames. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Grand Avenue Baptist Church and to Israel Family Hospice House. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada handled arrangements.
