Herman C. Sorensen, 72, 1111 11th Street, Nevada, died Sunday, Dec. 9, at Oak Park Manor Nursing Home in Nevada.
Born Oct. 18, 1908, in Milford Township to Rasmus and Bodil Anderson Sorensen, he was educated in Nevada schools.
Mr. Sorensen married Helen Iverson Nov. 24, 1940 in Nevada. He farmed in Milford Township until November 1971. Mr. Sorensen was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. John (Janet) Schneider of Woodridge, Ill,; two sisters, Mrs. Herb Shearman of Nevada and Mrs. Minnie Strine of Winter Garden, Fla; and two grandchildren, Steve and Mark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harry, Pete, Fred, and Clifford; and two sisters, Stena and Sophie.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial will be in Nevaada Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
