William E. Larsen, 88, of RR 2, Nevada, died Saturday Oct. 6 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.
Born Aug. 1, 1891 in Nevada to Christian and Christina Oleson Larsen, he attended rural school in Milford Township near his home. A retired farmer, Mr. Larsen married Evelyn I. Rasmussen Sept. 8, 1915 in Minneapolis, Minn., and lived on the home farms near Nevada, and also served on the Milford School Board.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Myron W. Larsen of Webb, Ia., and Edward C. Larsen of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Randall of Canoga Park, Calif.; two brothers, Peter Larsen of Nevada and Albert H. Larsen of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Anna Paulson of Ames; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Julie Ann; three brothers, Walter, Fred and Hanse, and one sister, Mrs. Thora Sorenson.
Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church, with Pastors Walter Lack and John Chadwick officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, is in charge of arrangements.
