Maude I. Leonard, 81, formerly of 1535 Grand Avenue, Ames, died Saturday, Oct. 6 at Good Shepherd Home, Mason City.
Born May 20, 1898 in Lamoni, she was educated at Lamoni schools and came to Story County in 1938 from near Luther.
She married Charles L. Leonard in June of 1916. Mrs. Leonard was a farm manager since 1951 and member of the First United Methodist Church of Ames, the Rebecca Club and the Happy Hour Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Opal (Mrs. John H.) Calhoun of Mason City, three sisters, two grandsons and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951, parents and four sisters.
Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with Rev. James L. Dotson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Squire Boone Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Adams Funeral Home Monday afternoon and evening.
