Ames - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the Stevens Memorial Chapel for Max Jorgenson, 69, who died at Mary Greely Hospital on Monday.
Rev. Cecil Wells will officiate at services, with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Jogenson was born July 16, 1907, at Kimballton, Iowa. On February 1 1930, he married Amy Dawn Armstrong at Dexter, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1961.
In 1968, he married Stella Westvold, who preceded him in death in 1975.
Jorgenson moved to Ames from Earlham in 1940. He owned and operated a number of farms in the Ames and Nevada area. More recently he farmed near Colo.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ames, and a member of the Ames Elk Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Marlin, of rural Ames, and two daughters: Mr. Naomi Weuve of State Center and Mrs. Judith Sowers of Story City. also surviving are seven grandchildren, one great grandson, one brother, Ralph of Ankeny, and two sisters: Mrs. Thelma Thomas of Afton, Iowa, and Mrs. Leona Young of Dayton, Ohio.
Jorgenson was preceded in death by an infant son in addition to his wives.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Stephens Memorial Chapel.---from a local newspaper, May 3, 1977
