Denise Taylor Moore, 40, of Boone and formerly of Ames, died Saturday, April 19, at Boone County Hospital. Her body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at St. John's by the Campus Episcopal Church in Ames, with the Rev. Don Payer officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
Denise was born Aug. 24, 1967, in Nevada, the daughter of Donald and Pamela (Haukaas) Taylor. She grew up in Story and Boone counties. She was a housewife and mother. She enjoyed collecting dolphin- and ocean-themed knickknacks, listening to music, doing crafts, being with her family and taking care of her son, Anakin.
She is survived by her husband, Tom H. Larson Jr., of Boone; one son, Anakin Larson, of Boone; one daughter, Pamela Moore, of Ames; one stepson, Thomas Larson III, of Nevada; one stepdaughter, Lupe Larson, of Nevada; her father, Donald Taylor, of Albert Lea, Minn.; two brothers, Steven Taylor and Rodney Taylor, both of Ames; sister, Tonya Taylor Potter and husband, Ted, of Nevada; father-in-law, Thomas H. Larson, of Ft. Carlin, Colo.; mother-in-law, Rose Smith, of Las Vegas; brother-in-law, Shawn C. Larson and wife, Terry, and their children, Spirit, Diamond and Tasha, all of Story City; nephews, Nicholas Johnston, Parker Taylor, and Taylor, Cole and Blayn Potter; and a niece, Erica Johnston. She is also survived by her stepmother, Jean Hollingsworth, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepbrothers, David Hermanson, of Colorado Springs, Thomas Hermanson and his daughters, Rachael, Jessica and Kirsti, all of Elkhart, and James Holveck, of Lincoln, Neb.; stepbrother, Michael Davenport and wife, Kelly, and their children, Blake, Austin, Elizabeth and Jace, all of Albert Lea, Minn.; and two stepsisters, Donna Fleshman and her children, Lisa Ann, Cory, and Cody Eyanson and grandchild, Trenten McCormick, all of Albert Lea, and Debbie Davenport and her children, Joseph and Kayla Cameron, and Alley and Bailey Davenport, all of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela; her stepmother, Mary Ann Crocker; and one nephew, Nicholas.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at its discretion.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone is in charge of arrangements.
