Alan Kennedy, 57, of Ames, died Thursday, April 17. An informal gathering of his family and friends will be from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service, Friday, April 25, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. A full obituary will be published in Wednesday's Tribune.

Alan Kennedy, 57, of Ames, died Thursday, April 17, of natural causes at his home. An informal gathering of his family and friends will be from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service, Friday, April 25, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Alan Kennedy was born Aug. 3, 1950, in Charles City, to E.M. "Red" and Charlene (Werner) Kennedy. He was employed in sales by Quality Inn and Suites.

He is survived by one daughter, Angela (Mike) Mowery, of Ames; two sisters, Paula (Joe) Miller and Alana (Larry) Becker, all of Clarksville; one brother, Brian Kennedy, of St. Paul, Minn.; four nephews; two stepchildren, Nick Hetzel and Amanda (Aaron) Rasmussen; and two step-grandchildren, Grace and Rose Rasmussen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Kennedy.
