L. G. Dixson died Tuesday
L. G. Dixson, 82, 411 Eighth St., died about 7:10 p.m. Tuesday at Mary Greeley Hospital, where he had been a patient since Sunday. Born in Ogden, Mr. Dixson came to Ames with his family in 1900. He majored in diary industries at Iowa State University and was employed with the post office department for 30 years and with Walt's News Stand. Mr. Dixson was a member of the First Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Cora; a son, Donald, 1902 George Allen Drive, two daughters, Mrs Ivadelle Mendon, 1118 Roosevelt Ave. and Mrs. Eva M. Coon, Knoxville; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday from the Adams Funeral Home, with the pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established with gifts for the Methodist Church memorial fund and may be left at the church office or with the First National Bank.
