Cora R. Dixson
Cora R. Dixson, 98, 411 Eighth St., died Monday, March 16, at her home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. John Moore and the Rev. Cecil Wells, First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Cora Garmire was born Feb. 15, 1883, to Sam and Mary (Schrieber) Garmire in Audubon County. She graduated from Normal School, Sac City and she taught five years in rural Audubon County. She was married in 1905 to L. G. Dixson in Audubon. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Diadema Class and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include one son, Donald, Crystal lake, Ill., two daughters, Ivadell Mendon, 1118 Roosevelt Ave and Eva M Coon, Knoxville, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death, by her husband in 1966, one brother, and three sisters. A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be left at First National Bank.
