Bernice Virginia Toresdahl Larson (1911-2007)

Bernice Virginia Toresdahl Larson was born Aug. 23, 1911 in Huxley to Sakarias and Bertha Toresdahl. She was the second of three children.

They lived on a farm until she was 20. Bernice married Homer Eldon Larson on July 15, 1932. They lived in Huxley where Homer was a police officer and chief of police in Story City, Ames, and other Iowa cities. In 1971, they moved to the Caldwell, Homedale area in Idaho. Besides adopting three children, Bernice. cared for many foster children.

Surviving is her sister, Marie of Ames; son, Max Larson of Washington state; daughter, Lucien Brinkerhoff of Nampa, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, her brother, and a son, David.

Bernice was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for 40 years and was joined by Homer in 1975. A memorial service was held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2106 E. Linden, Caldwell, Idaho, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jack Sequeira officiating. Inurnment followed at the Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
