Esther M. Fish, 99, of Story City died Nov. 20, 2007 at Bethany Manor in Story City. A celebration of life service was held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Inurnment will be in the Maxwell Cemetery.

Esther was born May 23, 1908 in Story City to Nels and Sophie (Jensen) Martens. She taught first grade at Maxwell from 1929 to 1942. She married Arthur Fish on June 10, 1940. Although she never had children, she considered her students and nieces and nephews as her children. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Maxwell American Legion Auxiliary and Rural Letter Carrier's Auxiliary.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Caroline Martens and many nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art and her brother, Ted.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Bethany Manor. Memorials may be made to the Esther Fish Memorial Fund.
