Harold N. Ullestad, 85, died Friday, Oct. 26, in Palm Harbor, Fla. Memorial services were today at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Dunedin, Fla.

Harold N. Ullestad was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Radcliffe. He graduated from Ames High School in 1939 and Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines.

He entered the U.S. Navy in September 1942 and served at the Navy aviation supply depot on the island of Espiritu Santu, and also as petty officer first class (store keeper) aboard the USS Hydrographer. He was discharged in November 1945.

He graduated from Drake University and retired as the senior financial vice president, treasurer and director of Chemical Financial in Cleveland, Ohio, in December 1982. He was named to "Who's Who in America" in 1976.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cleone Grant; three sons, James (Karen), Gary (Tonja) and Charles (Susan); two daughters, Linda (Gord McCosh) and Janis Yoder; six grandsons; five granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

Curlew Hills Funeral Home of Palm Harbor, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
