Grace Alice Boicourt, 77, of Story City, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Burial will be in South St. Petri Cemetery in rural Gilbert.
Grace Alice Boicourt was born Nov. 29, 1929, north of Jewell, to Peter and Agnes (Peterson) Shillinglaw. She graduated from Stanhope High School in 1947. She had lived in the Ames area most of her life. She worked as a secretary-bookkeeper for NFO. She was an active volunteer in many ways and at RSVP, and she loved her dogs, to crochet and needlework, and especially her family.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Shillinglaw, and his wife, Doretta; three nieces, Rachael (Randy) Seibens, of Ames, Rebecca (Doug) Dostal, of West Des Moines, and Teresa (Dan) Barmore, of Cedar Rapids; seven grand-nieces; and two grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marvin Lyons; and her second husband, H. Dean Boicourt.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.
