Helen Rauch, 90, of Ames, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at Northcrest in Ames. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home.

Helen Rauch, 90, of Ames, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at Northcrest Retirement Community. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Green Room at Northcrest Retirement Community, with the Rev. Linda Butler of Collegiate United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Helen Rauch was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Ames, to George and Carrie (Keltner) Zimmerman. She was a graduate of Ames High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Helen was a Navy Wave from 1943-45. She was personnel manager at the Ball Corp. in Chicago for 30 years.

She married S. H. Rauch in March 1951 in Chicago.

She was a member of Collegiate United Methodist Church women's group and Mary Greeley Auxiliary.

She is survived by one brother, Howard (Helen) Zimmerman, of Dallas; two brothers-in-law, Charles Benn, of Ames, and William Slaichert, of Denver, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Clyde Zimmerman; and two sisters; Ruth Benn and Erma Slaichert.

Memorials may be given to Homeward Hospice.

Adams Funeral Home of Ames is in charge of arrangements.
