Viola L. Couser, age 100, of Palos Park, Illinois, passed away on July 24, 2006.

Viola was born May 2, 1906 in Roland to Julia Larson and Arthur K. Boyd and moved to Chicago as a newly-wed. She was a homemaker and during her lifetime she was employed by Segal Hess & Co. at the Chicago Stockyards, which was primarily involved in cattle trading. Viola served the company as a commodities broker. She was a member of Bethany Union Church located at 103rd and Wood Sts.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Luther K. and a grandson, Mark R. Mains.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy M. Tedesco of Parrish, Florida, Norma Colt of San Diego, California, and Bonnie Petersen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Viola leaves two grandsons, three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Bethany Union Community Church, 1750 W. 103rd St., Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. with a private internment.

Zimmerman & Sandeman Orland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
