THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 1, 2007.

Martha Coughenour, 97, of Collins, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at State Center Care Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Collins United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

A complete obituary will be in Friday's newspaper. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.

Martha Christine Coughenour, 92, of State Center, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Care Center in State Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at the Collins United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.

Martha Christine Coughenour was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Roland, to Andrew J. and Anna Marie (Sorem) Shold. She graduated from Roland High School in 1932. She married Harold Samuel Coughenour April 12, 1936. She worked as a bookkeeper for Central Iowa Insurance for four years. After raising her family, she was employed at Sorem Sales where she worked for 18 years, retiring in 1988.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Coughenour, of Collins; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally Ann and Joe Kangley, of Rockwell City; five grandchildren, Alice (David) Moody, of Nevada, Stephen Coughenour, of Des Moines, Michael J. Kangley, of Onamia, Minn., Daniel (Jennifer) Kangley, of Aurora, Colo., and Christine Kangley, of Fort Dodge; four great-grandchildren, Crystal, Cara and Celsey Moody and Noah Kangley; and one sister-in-law, Helen Shold, of Roland.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two infant sons, Steven and Thomas; three brothers, Jeffery, Earling and Arthur Shold; and one sister, Veda Bakke.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials may be given to the Collins United Methodist Church.

Bacon Funeral Home of Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
