Loeta B. Coleman, 87, of Lafayette, Ind., and formerly of Ames, died Sunday, Feb. 25, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, Ind. A memorial service will be at a later date.
Loeta B. Coleman was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Cincinnati, Iowa, to Griffith A. and Mary L. (Inns) Buck. She lived in Cincinnati and Rockford, Ill., before moving to Ames in 1948. She married Kenneth W. Coleman April 21, 1951. He preceded her in death March 3, 2002. She had lived in Ames for more than 50 years before moving to Lafayette, Ind., in 2002. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. (Charles) Calahan, of West Lafayette, Ind., and Kathryn (Larry) Littlefield, of Gibson City, Ill.; six grandchildren, Daniel (Karen) Thompson, of Corinth, Texas, Jonathan Thompson, of Driggs, Idaho, Aaron (Erin) Thompson, of West Lafayette, Ind., Sarah (Adam) Reimer, of Bloomington, Ind., Rebecca Littlefield, of Gibson City, Ill., and David Littlefield, of Gibson City, Ill.; and two great-grandsons, Drew and Jay Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Louise Forsen; and two brothers, Robert Buck and Griffith J. Buck.
Soller-Baker Funeral Home in Lafayette, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.
