Madeline Church, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home.

Madeline Church, 77, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Private family burial will be at a later date.

Madeline Church was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Des Moines, to Clarence and Louise (Martin) Ludlow. She married Glen Church March 26, 1950, and moved to Ames. She enjoyed fishing, visiting friends and playing cards. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Mary Greeley Auxiliary and Telephone Pioneers of America.

She is survived by her husband, Glen, of Ames; two daughters, Judy (Mike) Clayberg, of Marshalltown, and Jan (Doug) Elliott, of Story City; three grandchildren, Wendy (Randy) Warden, Marci Clayberg, and Chad (Amanda) Elliott; four great-grandchildren, Lance Warden, Samantha Elliott, Ross Elliott and Annarose Elliott; three nieces; one nephew; and her sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Adams Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church.
