CARL SMITH DIED MONDAY AT AMES

Mr. and Mrs. Arling E. Smith were called to Ames the first of the week by the sudden death of his brother, Carl R. Smith, who died Monday noon. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Smith was District Extension Supervisor of this district, coordinating the work of the Iowa State College and the local extension service.

He is survived by his wife, a son, David, a senior at Iowa State college, a daughter, Carol, a sophomore at Ames high school, four sisters and three brothers.

Services will be held in Ames Thursday morning with graveside services at Cedar Rapids at three in the afternoon.
