Robert Lee Nordhagen, 82, of Madrid and formerly of Ames and Huxley, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Madrid Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley, with the Rev. Donald Dovre officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Robert Lee Nordhagen was born March 20, 1924, in Choteau, Mont., to Ole and Johanne (Johansen) Nordhagen. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Luella "Jane" Bowers Jan. 24, 1945. He worked as an auto maintenance foreman for the Iowa Department of Transportation, retiring in 1986.

He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Johnson, of Ankeny; two brothers, Ray, of Missoula, Mont., and Dick, of Choteau, Mont.; grandchildren, Darin (Trisha) Johnson, of Ames; and great-grandchildren, Xavier and Kai Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2001; four sisters; two brothers; and son-in-law, Michael Johnson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home in Slater.
