Opal M. Pauk, 84, of Story City, died Saturday, Nov. 4, at home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City.

Opal M. Pauk was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Hornink, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Abel) Rysdam. She married Donald M. Pauk July 27, 1945.

She was a lifemate and partner with her husband as they farmed north of Ames until they retired to Arkansas. Later in life, she enjoyed her friends, eating out and watching her "favorite" team, the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Pack, of Kelley; one son, Paul (Claudia) Pauk, of Story City; four grandchildren, Mischelle (David) Roush, Angela (Craig) Block, Christina Glaub and Paula Pauk; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cecile Gay and Virginia Larson, both of Sloan; and one brother, Harold Rysdam, of Santa Cruz, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
