Sept. 14, 1950-Sept. 22, 2006
Mark Douglas Frette, 56, died at home Friday, Sept. 22, of a heart attack. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames with burial in Story City Cemetery. A gathering of friends will be one hour prior to the service.

Mark was born Sept. 14, 1950, to Bernice and Arnold Frette. He grew up in Story City and attended Story City High School where he excelled in football. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps at the young age of 17 and served his country by doing two tours in Vietnam. After his discharge from the service, he attended AIB in Des Moines and graduated from Minneapolis School of Business. He spent the last several years living in Des Moines and most recently worked for Data Input. He had a wonderful, dry sense of humor. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold 'Em and watching pro football on TV.

He is survived by one brother, Paul (Sandy) Frette, of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Sonja (Marlin Jorgensen) Frette, Kirsten Kenyon and Melanie (Rick) Rients, all of Ames; five nephews, Dale Jorgensen, Alan Russell, Shaun Rients, Paul Rients and Ryan Kenyon; three nieces, Jennifer Huntrods, Veronica Spreng and Beth Rients; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Phillip Frette and John Frette; one brother-in-law, Scott Kenyon; and two nephews, Jeffrey Jorgensen and Bobby Russell.
