Kathleen Sue (Allen) Ayers Kelderman, 59, of Nevada, went to be with her Lord, her ancestors, and her son (Lonnie Rae Ayers) on Sunday, Aug. 6, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. The body has been cremated and no services are planned.

She was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Marshalltown, to A.W. Allen and L. Jean Howerton.

She had worked at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Pittsburgh, Pa.; did volunteer clerical work for the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years; and was employed in the emergency room/ambulance office of the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown. She spent the last 20 years of her career as a unit secretary at the USDA, APHIS, National Veterinary Services Laboratories and the USDA, ARS, National Animal Disease Center in Ames; working several units there plus serving on several committees and as the EEO Counselor at the NADC for a five-year term. She retired from the NADC in May 1997. Her hobbies were genealogy research on her and her husband's families, reading, playing Mah Jongg on the computer, making her own greeting cards and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, John Earl White; two sons, Anthony Michael (Kelderman) Cooper (plus daughter-in-law, Sheryl Cooper, grandson Kevon Cooper, and granddaughter, Krystal Cooper), of Hayward, Calif., and Joseph James Kelderman, of Nevada; two sisters, Carole Jean Larson (and brother-in-law, James DiMaio) and Lynda Kae Messner (and brother-in-law, Joe Messner) of Arizona; her parents, Addison D. and I. Jean Snyder, of Marshalltown; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Rachel White of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three nephews, one niece and countless cousins.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
