JAMES M. DENNISTON

James M. DENNISTON was born in Dark county, Ohio, March 28, 1843, and passed from this life at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sept. 12, 1925, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 14 days.

In June, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Mariah HOKE, and to this union ten children were born; John D., William J., Mrs. W.T. BELT, and Mrs. Wm. BOZE of Los Angeles, Cal.; Albert M., J.L., Frank and Mrs. T.A. BUTTON of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. W.T. DALTON, and Mrs. L.M. BROTHERTON who preceeded him in death. On August 27, 1897, his loving wife was called away and since that time he had been making his home with his children.

When the call for soldiers for the Civil war was ordered he joined the ranks and served in the ranks until the end of the war, after which he returned to his home community. He was a member of the Grant Park G.A.R. of Oklahoma City.

He also leaves two brothers, S.L. DENNISTON, of Oklahoma City and David DENNISTON of Collins, besides many other relatives and friends. He was loved and respected by his many friends for his honest, and good will to all.

The body arrived in Collins, last Wednesday noon and was taken to the David DENNISTON residence thence to the Methodist church where at 2:30 services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. David Young, and interment was made in the Collins cemetery.
