June 11, 1920-May 26, 2006
Raymond E. Eveland, of Eugene, Ore., and formerly of Kelley, died May 26 at his home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Napier Methodist Church near Ames.

Raymond was born June 11, 1920, in Dallas County, the son of H. Lloyd and Lena (Grimm) Eveland. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943-46. He served as Boone County representative in the Iowa House from 1957-64. Throughout his life, he was active in the Democratic Party.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; and his children, John (Sally) Eveland, of Philomath, Ore., Barbara (Ken Kenaston) Eveland, of Corvallis, Ore., Bruce (Susan) Eveland, of Eugene, Ore., and Todd (Cyndi) Eveland, of Nelson, British Columbia; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Lucille Danks, of Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Gladys Eveland; and one sister, Edith Franksain.
