Funeral rites for the late Floyd Alderman, who died at his farm home southeast of Nevada Thursday, June 25, were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Nevada Evangelical church, with his pastor, Rev. Yackel, in charge. Burial was in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Deceased was the father of Mrs. Lester Hanson and Mrs. Orris Swaim of Collins.

Floyd A. Alderman, son of Silas P. and Mary Jane Alderman, was born May 13, 1877, near Peoria, in Polk county, Ia. He grew to manhood on the Alderman homestead in Nevada township.

On September 28, 1898, he was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Kopf. This union was blessed with four children, Maurice, Leora, Gordon and Junia. On May 27, 1928, the wife passed away.

February 3, 1934, he was again married, to Mrs. Hattie Handsaker, who survives.

He was a man of excellent character and was respected by all who knew him.

Besides the above mentioned, he is also survived by two other children, Maurice of Nevada and Gordon, who is a chaplain in the army: also four grandchildren, Kathelene Hanson, Virgil and Loretta Swaim and Joyce Alderman, as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
