Hal Thomas Aldrich, April 10, 1954, to Dec. 7, 2002
Hal Thomas Aldrich, 48, of Ames, died of heart failure on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls.
He was born April 10, 1954, in Des Moines to Ervin and June (Talbert) Aldrich. He grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of Ballard High School in Huxley. He had lived 24 years in Ames, working as a self-employed laborer. He married Bernice Woodley on May 12, 1978. His favorite pastimes included drinking coffee, playing Bingo and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Ames; a daughter, Melissa Maly of Nevada; a son, Casey Aldrich of Ames; a step-son, Curt Dowdy of Madrid; five grandsons; one step-grandson; three brothers, James and Kevin "Tobar", both of Ames, and Steve of Newton; and four sisters, Karen Harrollson of Cambridge, Bonny Dulaney of Nevada, Robin Blue of Marshalltown and Susan Ceretti of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Services were held Monday, Dec. 16, at Adams Funeral Home. The body was cremated.
